The slender, fingerlike peninsula of Pelješac is coastal Croatia at its most relaxed. Blessed with craggy mountains, sweeping valleys, idyllic coves and fine wines, it’s a glorious place to visit. Two historic towns, Ston and Orebić, bookend the peninsula and the slow, winding drive between them is a very pleasant one indeed; allow an hour, or longer if you stop for wine tastings along the way. The peninsula's third-largest settlement is pretty little palm-lined Trpanj on the northern coast, where the car ferry leaves for Ploče.

Our guests reviews

Charming cottage in a lovely settlement on the Peljesac peninsula Lovely and well equipped cottage in Trestenik. Maja is excellent and very helpful with recommendations - even though done remotely. Very comfortable beds and good quality cotton linen. The bedrooms in the attic are a bit claustrophobic but the air con is quiet and does the job. Maja is generous with leaving basic cooking in ingredients. Trestenik has several good restaurants within a 5min walk from the cottage. Trestenik is also well situated in the peninsula being half way between Ston and Orebic. Fantastic wineries. Had some great wines.

Recomendable 100%
Superb idillic The 3 of us Mum, Dad and Lewis (aged 3 – almost 4 now!) stayed here in June and have to say this cottage, and the town in general, was absolutely superb. The cottage was equipped with everything you could want, plates cutlery etc and is set in an absolutely fantastic location. The walk up from Trstenik takes about 4-5 mins is on a very quiet - dead end – road so with a tired 3(almost 4) year old on tow coming back from the restaurants at night was a breeze. Trstenik itself is lovely – with 4 or 5 nice restaurants to chose from Konoba Maris we found to be great fish btw - but they’ve all got their merits. There's a wee shop for essentials and a post office in town. The beach is great and close by and the views from there - as they are all over the peninsula - are absolutely amazing. House-wise , like I say, there’s everything you could need , the dishwashers handy as is the air conditioning works really really well – its upstairs but worked well enough for the whole cottage we found. If your reading this chances are you're thinking of staying here and if you are and you're after a quiet stay, with a good selection of cafe bars and restaurants, in a great cottage with a load of character , a brilliant host and a simply amazing location then you’ve just found it - this place is seriously good - book it quick! 🙂
Great cottage This place is well equipped, in a lovely village, a short walk to the beach. Nothing was too much trouble for Maja and Ursula. A great location for exploring north and south, islands and mainland. All the kit was there for us and our 2 year old - the only issue was that the garden isn't fenced and there's a bit of a drop down to the road, so we had to watch him carefully to make sure he kept away from the edge.

Perfect holiday at a perfect location We stayed at the cottage for a week and enjoyed it thoroughly. The cottage had all amenities to make a most comfortable vacation. The host, Maya, was very considerate and always made us feel as if she'd been around even though we didn't get to meet her in person (yet she was always available via mobile phone in case we needed anything). We also loved the location which was just outside the centre of a small fishing village, Trstenik, meaning it only took a couple of minutes to walk to the village centre (small shop and several cafès/restaurants) and to the local beach, yet it was very quiet and peaceful around the cottage (thus it really felt like staying in the countryside). We found the location perfect to make day trips around the Peljesać peninsula, the nearby islands and even Dubrovnik. Would love to stay there again!

Heaven My first Cottage experience was when I was a single girl, on "chic-Adriatic-places-hopping" type of summer vacation.. Between magnificent Dubrovnik short drive away and crazy Hvar short cruise away 🙂 my stay at Novak's was a soul food in between! My second was many years later with my hubby and baby boy.. In Trstenik you feel instantly like you belong.. you need the flip flops, the rest is there - the crystal water, beautiful beach, tasty food, nice people, Mediterranean scents, sights and sounds.. Heaven.. Can't wait to take my baby girl there!

We loved staying at Maya's apartment! It's perfectly situated and has everything to make it feel like home
